The Ried-Mörel consumer co-operative, headed by director Andreas Walker, has taken over the lease and plans to run the shop for three years, when they will have the option of buying it for CHF 800,000. The consumer co-operative is launching a campaign to finance the project: supporters can either make a donation or purchase co-operative shares of CHF 500 each. The Prima shop is located right next to the mountain station of the Mörel–Ried-Mörel–Riederalp West cable car and was previously run by Beate and Egon Schwery’s family for many years. Martina Schnarwiler now manages the village shop. She is a qualified baker and confectioner and lives in Mörel.
