From cable car mechatronics and mechanics to electrical work and IT, Aletsch Bahnen AG offers a variety of exciting technical roles that will put you in charge of the maintenance and development of our equipment and systems. These professions are especially important during service disruptions, upgrades, new construction projects and maintenance. Professional experience in a technical environment is important, but you don’t need specific cable car expertise.

You work where the action happens. You oversee our operations and make sure that our guests are as happy as can be. This involves a wide variety of tasks: you might be looking after guests at our sports and feeder lifts or running a sales outlet. You could work directly on the slopes, operating a snow groomer or keeping an eye on everything with the piste patrol.

Our gastronomists keep our guests well fed and watered. Aletsch Bahnen AG operates a wide range of catering services, from large restaurants to cosy taverns. Most of them are up the mountain and treat you to breathtaking views while you work. Roles include chef, cook and service staff for our day-to-day operations.

In the administrative department of Aletsch Bahnen AG, you pull the strings in the background. Your workplace is our headquarters on Bettmeralp at the heart of the Aletsch Arena. Within central services, you field daily enquiries from guests or service providers. As a product manager, you optimise our offers and coordinate bookings. In finance and HR, you help manage the finances and staffing for our operations.

Aletsch Bahnen AG offers many apprenticeships across all its departments. Whether you want to be an office clerk, construction machinery mechanic, cable car mechatronics engineer or technician, a chef or restaurant manager – we provide outstanding opportunities to gain your first work experience in an environment that is second to none. After three years, you receive your Federal Vocational Education and Training Diploma (EFZ), ready to embark on a successful professional future.

Holidays and working hours

At Aletsch Bahnen AG, your work-life balance is our priority. Our employees enjoy between five and seven weeks off every year (depending on age), and they may request additional unpaid leave. During the season, your working hours are flexible (depending on your role) and you can let us know your preferred days off. This way, your work is just one part of your life – not the other way around.

Mobility

Aletsch Bahnen AG moves mountains – and its employees. We give you a free annual pass for the Aletsch Arena and a complementary half-fare travel card. You also benefit from staff travel discounts (FVP) and one-day passes for other Swiss cable cars. And there’s more: your family gets to hit the slopes for free with our “Gspani Charte”. And for those who also use a car, there’s free parking at their workplace.

Catering and accommodation

As well as providing a truly thrilling working environment, we make sure you are well fed and have a roof over your head. Avail yourself of a 30% discount on à-la-carte dishes or choose the daily special at a discount in all ABAG restaurants across the entire Aletsch Arena. If you need a place to stay, limited accommodation is available. Alternatively, our team will help you find your own housing.

Salary and benefits

Good work deserves to be rewarded. As an employee of Aletsch Bahnen AG, you receive an annual salary paid in 13 instalments or a fair hourly wage if you’re a seasonal worker. Our attractive social insurance benefits protect your financial security. We even contribute to the cost of your training and professional development. And if you want to keep fit outside of work, the Fiesch Fitness Centre is available to you for free!
