New freeride slope on Eggishorn

Aletsch Bahnen is opening a new freeride slope this winter.

The freeride slope starts at the Eggishorn view point, behind the Horli-Hitta. The first 140 metres of this slope are very narrow and very steep.  The entire run is 1,700 metres long, spanning an altitude difference of 670 metres. In the Eggishorn/Brunni area, the slope ends at the Heimatt chairlift.  A freeride slope is not prepared and there is no final inspection, but it is nevertheless protected from typical alpine hazards.
The slope is suitable only for very good skiers. Whether or not the freeride slope is open depends on the amount of snow and the current conditions.
