Between Alpine Town and Alpe Pass

Holiday Region Brig Simplon

The charming Alpine town of Brig as the centre and starting point for many exciting experiences in our homeland ensure a well-rounded experience. The Brig Simplon region stretches from the historic town of Brig on the course of the young Rhone over picturesque mountain villages up to the barren high mountain landscape on the Simplon Pass and on to Gondo on the Italian border. Hiking in summer or skiing holidays in winter - the Brig Simplon region is worth a visit at any time of year. Exciting contrasts can be seen between Brig, with its 13,000 inhabitants, where business tourism also plays a role, and the rural areas, which focus on holiday tourism. The Stockalper Trail, which leads from Brig over the Simplon Pass to Gondo and on to Domodossola in Italy, is considered the "connecting element" between town, country and mountain. In addition to many hikes in summer, rewarding destinations can also be reached in winter with snowshoes and touring skis. And if the sun is not shining, a visit to the warm thermal springs of Brigerbad is worthwhile.

Naturally beautiful. Simply magical.

Blatten-Belalp

The power of the Great Aletsch Glacier and the preservation of customs and tradition make up the unique magic of this place. Get to know the customs and traditions of Blatten-Belalp at various events, such as the Aufalpung, the Schäful, the Alpabfahrt, the Advent market of Naters or the Belalp Hexe.

During the summer, Blatten-Belalp is the starting point for various activities in the Valais mountain world. Discover the breathtaking Great Aletsch Glacier, hike along historic water channels along the Massaweg and into the Gredetschtal or let yourself be introduced to the world of climbing. In addition to hiking and climbing, you can also explore the region by bike.

In the winter, Belalp offers a wide range of snow sports. Countless slopes are waiting to be discovered on skis and snowboards. If you prefer to take it a little easier, you can go on one of the many winter or snowshoe hikes and enjoy the view of the fantastic Valais mountains.

There is something for everyone at the Belalp!

The high-altitude valley with thirteen picturesque villages

Goms

Goms lies in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The high valley that surrounds its quaint mountain villages is a paradise for nature lovers, sports enthusiasts and anyone seeking peace and quiet. With up to 300 days of sunshine per year, a stay in nature is a radiant experience here. The natural surroundings are unique, the landscape is dominated by mountains and the villages are picturesque and authentic. From Niederwald to Oberwald, each village has a lot to offer culturally.

Goms is most famous for the cross-country skiing there. Over 100km of cross-country trails throughout the entire valley promise the right route for every level of ability – whether it’s an endurance challenge or just enjoyment you’re after.

Goms isn’t just a paradise in winter. In summer, too, people visit for sports or for some well-earned rest. The Goms High-Altitude Trail guarantees views across the whole valley from its vantage point above the villages of Goms.

In the restaurants, top Goms chefs conjure up veritable works of culinary art. Hospitality has always been paramount in Goms. This is no coincidence, as the “king of hoteliers”, César Ritz, was born and raised here.

The nature park in Goms

Binntal Nature Park

Binntal Nature Park is a regional park of national significance, providing fascinating experiences all year round. The municipalities of Ernen, Binn, Grengiols and Bister are part of the park. The lower-lying trails are accessible to hikers in spring, while ski tourers are still making their trips in the areas higher up. Biodiversity is considered to be very important and there are many rare flowers to be seen. Cross-border hikes are also a delight during summer in the neighbouring Parco Naturale Veglia Devero. This forms a transboundary area with Binntal Nature Park. With the leaves slowly beginning to change colour, autumn is the time to enjoy its splendour.

You are catered for all year round with a variety of excellent restaurants and coffee shops in Binntal Nature Park. We also recommend the range of products from our partners, particularly the award-winning cheeses from Alpe Furgge or Binneralpe, for example.
