Starting at Riederalp West mountain station, head up to Riederfurka. From there, follow the trail through Teiffewald forest to Lake Grünsee. Now proceed eastwards to Silbersand – the destination of the hike, with its magnificent views of the Great Aletsch Glacier. The return route takes you along the Lower Aletsch Trail through the protected Aletsch Forest with its stone pines, some of which are over 900 years old, up to Riederfurka. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Pro Natura Centre in the imposing Villa Cassel before tackling the last stage of the hike downhill to Riederalp.
