Over the suspension bridges of the Aletsch Arena

“Über sieben Brücken musst du gehn” (“Seven bridges you must cross”) is the title of a song by Peter Maffay. Even if the Aletsch Arena and the Obergoms region has only five – the suspension bridges Belalp-Riederalp, Aspi-Titter, the Goms Bridge, the small Massa Bridge near Bitsch and the Bodmer Bridge in Obergoms – there is certainly no shortage of spectacle and thrills.

Mountain tours and alpine hikes

Are you sure-footed, with a head for heights and looking for the ultimate hiking challenge? Then, the demanding mountain tours and alpine hikes are just the thing for you. Take the UNESCO High Altitude Trail, for example, a spectacular hike from Bettmerhorn mountain station to Eggishorn mountain station. The partly exposed – but well-secured – ridge trail makes for an adrenaline-pumping experience.

Barrier-free trails

The Aletsch Arena also makes it possible for wheelchair users to enjoy outings to experience the beneficial effect of nature and explore the region. Quite a few of the hiking trails are barrier-free and no problem at all for a wheelchair or a pram/stroller.

A beautiful, easy hike along the Wysswasser river. Thanks to a barrier-free wheelchair path, the first part of this hike is also easily accessible to wheelchair users and people with impaired mobility.
