Aletsch-ridge snowshoe trekking

The snowshoe guide takes the cable car with you up to Moosfluh. Walking in the direction of Biel, you pass behind some prominent rocks and take one of the many trails on the broad mountain ridge past Hohfluh to Riederfurka. Before descending to Riederalp, take a quick detour to the Pro Natura Centre (Villa Cassel) and, if conditions permit, hike along the Casselweg trail to look out over the Gibidum Dam way down below.

Equipment: robust, if possible waterproof hiking or mountain boots, functional winter clothes (gloves, cap, no jeans), sunglasses, sun cream, drink or snack and personal medication.
