From the mountain station of the Bettmeralp cable car, head east through the village until you reach the Hotel Aletsch. The start of the Helsana Swiss Running Walking Trail is situated here. First follow the relatively flat path to Martisbergeralp via Baschweri Adventure Park. After about half an hour, the path turns back 180° towards the west. After a gentle climb, the path levels out again and continues towards Alte Stafel. You’ll then make another gentle climb up to Lake Bettmersee. The Nordic walking trail continues above the idyllic lake via Gopplerlücke down to Golmenegg. From there, you’ll return via the Aletsch Promenade (a tarmac road) to Bettmeralp and back to the starting point at the Hotel Aletsch.
