Riederalp - Great Aletsch Glacier - Riederalp

Cable car ride to Moosfluh. From Moosfluh to the “Katzenlöcher”. This is where the glacier experience begins. During the 2-hour hike, well secured, you learn some fascinating facts about the 20 km-long Great Aletsch Glacier and its history. Return via Moosfluh to Riederalp (individual decision by cable car or on foot).

Note: the gondola ride Riederalp-Moosfluh is not included in the price.

Dates: every Wednesday from beginning of July until beginning of October, additionaly every Tuesday from mid-July until mid-August
Duration: total approximate walking time 6 hours (approx. 2-hour tour on the Aletsch Glacier)
Meeting point: 9:25 h Moosfluh valley station (Aletsch Express is awaited)

Number of participants: min. 8 people
Suitable for: minimal age 8 years
Requirements: sure-footedness, no mountaineering experience required, 1 pole recommended, trekking or hiking shoes (good grip), hat, jacket, sunglasses, gloves, packed lunch and drinks; shorts are unsuitable on the glacier (wind). The technical equipment such as crampons will be provided.
